We are joining police forces across the country this week to celebrate the work of Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT).
Across the week, we will highlight the vital contribution of officers, PCSOs and volunteers who work tirelessly in communities to solve local crime, build relationships with residents, target anti-social behaviour, support vulnerable people and tackle violence against women and girls.
In North Wales, neighbourhood teams are often the first point of contact for communities. They build trust, prevent crime and proactively tackle the local issues that matter most to the people they serve.
They also work closely with partner agencies to tackle the root cause of issues and work together to bring a solution the community will benefit from, and to prevent an increased risk of crime.
Chief Inspector Ian Roberts of the Prevention team said: “Neighbourhood Policing Teams make a huge difference to communities on a hyper local level.
“Day in and out, they are working in their patches to proactively tackle the issues causing the most concern in communities to keep people safe and prevent serious crime.
“From locking up burglars to working with stores to crack down on shoplifting and proactively patrolling ASB hotspots, neighbourhood teams take on all manner of work as they continue to ensure that the villages, towns and cities of North Wales are kept safe.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank our teams for all the great work they are doing across the region every day.
“They are key to North Wales Police’s vision of engaging with communities, fighting, preventing and reducing crime and providing an excellent service to victims.
“Across the week you can expect to see updates across our social media platforms highlighting all the work being done by our fantastic teams using #NeighbourhoodPolicingWeek.”
