Callum Adamson (20) from Pont Wen in Wrexham was jailed for 20 months yesterday, for breaching a suspended sentence, dangerous driving, assaulting an emergency worker, and driving whilst disqualified, and without insurance.

The offences related to an incident on February 3rd 2025, when Adamson was seen by officers driving whilst disqualified. He was followed to Pont Wen, at which point, he turned his car around and drove directly at the police vehicle, hitting the front of it.
Officers got out of the car and approached Adamson’s vehicle. One of the officers managed to open a door in order to apprehend him, but he drove off at speed, injuring the officer and crashing into the police car again. He was eventually arrested on 14th February.
At the time of the incident, Adamson was serving a suspended sentence for previous offences, and yesterday at Mold Crown Court, Judge Christopher Vosper sentenced Adamson to four months of his suspended sentence, and a consecutive term of 16 months for dangerous driving.
He also received a concurrent three months’ custody for driving whilst disqualified. No separate penalty was imposed for the insurance offence.
In total he was sentenced to 20 months in a young offender’s institution and banned from driving for two years and ten months.
Speaking after sentencing, District Inspector Rhodri Ifans said: “Adamson’s actions that night were reckless and endangered the lives of officers.
“I welcome this sentence, which emphasizes that dangerous driving will never be tolerated, nor will assaults on emergency workers.
“I commend my officers who showed considerable bravery in the face of a suspect determined to evade arrest.
“Finally I would like to reassure the community that we will continue to bring offenders to justice in order to keep our residents safe.”
