Inspector Darren Kane has recently taken over as District Inspector for the Gwynedd South area.
The Welsh speaking officer from the Pwllheli area first joined the force in 2003 and has worked in several roles over his 20 years’ service.
District Inspector Darren Kane said: “I started my career in Pwllheli as a Police Constable and have worked in a number of roles across Gwynedd whilst gaining experience in my career.
“I’m proud to return to the South Gwynedd area to be District Inspector and to serve the community that I was born and raised in.
“I know the area and the community well, having lived here my whole life and having worked here for the majority of my career.
On his plans for Gwynedd South, Inspector Kane said his focus is to engage with the community and listen to local priorities.
“The Gwynedd South district is unique in its changing demands on local resources throughout the year.
“I aim to support residents and local businesses as well as allowing holidaymakers to enjoy the beauty that we have on offer in a safe and respectful manner.
“I am keen to work with the community and partner agencies to tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour and work on crime prevention.
“Ultimately, we are here to make Gwynedd South a safe place to live, work and visit. That is what I strive to achieve as the District Inspector.”
