Anti-Social Behaviour and Criminal Activity
Issued 09 October 2026
Conwy and Denbigh Rural Patrol and Neighbourhood Officers are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour by getting to the root causes. Closure orders have been utilised at two properties in Denbigh where high levels of disorder were being experienced. These steps help safeguard vulnerable members of the community and demonstrate that criminal behaviour will not be tolerated. Working alongside partner agencies the use of community protection notices is on the rise. The use of these notices along with Community Behaviour Orders have proved to be highly effective by significantly decreasing repeat anti-social and criminal behaviour in the Denbigh, Ruthin and Loggerheads areas.

Visibility, Community Engagement and Partnership Working
Issued 09 October 2026
Prevention of crime and being visible in the community go hand in hand. Patrol and neighbourhood officers are therefore spending as much time as possible out in the communities they serve. Officers continue to target 'hotspot areas' that analytic data highlight as problematic areas experiencing the highest number of reported incidents. Over summer months our towns have hosted events that have drawn in huge crowds. Operations were organised to manage live music events in Llangollen and Ruthin along with annual agricultural shows throughout the district. Neighbourhood officers continue to engage with members of the public in pre-arranged police drop-in surgeries (cuppa with a copper) open to anyone who wishes to raise any concerns. Following previous successes joint operations involving Immigration and Trading Standards will continue to target business premises within the district. Neighbourhood officers continue to work closely with housing associations and mental health services to tackle repeat sources of nuisance to the community.
