We're working with neighbourhoods across North Wales to protect you with forensic property marking technology, and help you keep your property safe and secure.
- we’ll visit communities across North Wales to encourage you to become Safer Neighbourhoods
- we’ll advise you on the best way to keep your property safe and secure
- we’ll encourage you to mark your property with SmartWaterTech invisible forensic technology, which we’ll provide (working with community councils)
- we’ll display signs throughout Safer Neighbourhood areas, stating that property is securely protected with forensic technology
Why?
- offenders tend to return to a neighbourhood which they’ve already entered, and where they’ve already committed crime: we want to break that pattern
- it’s been proved that offenders are less likely to target a community which is security protected and displays ‘Safer Neighbourhood’ signs
- it’s less likely that offenders will target property which is protected with forensic markings
- UV and forensic marking make it easier to connect offenders with a specific crime and secure a conviction – and to return property to the rightful owner
- these actions will help prevent offenders from targeting neighbourhoods, and make our communities safer
