Monitoring Reports
Under section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (the Public Sector Equality Duty) and the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations 2011, we are required to publish equality information to demonstrate our compliance with the general equality duty. Our Annual Diversity Report and our Workforce Representation Report form part of the information that we collate, monitor and publish to help us embed equality considerations within our service provision and employment practices; these help us to and meet our responsibilities under the duty.
Annual Diversity Report
This report aims to statistically assess the proportionality of our operational policing within the North Wales Police force area, across the characteristics of Age, Gender and Ethnicity. Any exceptions identified from data analyses have been highlighted with further context or raised for further scrutiny. The policing activity considered in each annual report includes:
Workforce Representation Report
These reports provide an overview of our employment monitoring data as of the 31st of March each year. They include demographic information relating to the Protected Characteristics of Age, Disability, Gender Reassignment, Marriage and Civil Partnership, Pregnancy & Maternity, Race, Religion or Belief, Sex, and Sexual Orientation. The reports include the information that we hold relating to “Employees,” i.e. Police Officers and Police Staff, including Police Community Support Officers.
We continually encourage our workforce to volunteer personal information relating to their characteristics, and whilst declaration rates continue to improve year on year this is voluntary, individuals can choose whether they wish to declare, or not. The information we gather helps us to understand equality issues in our workforce and to make informed decisions on changes to our policies and practices.
