We are investigating an attempted robbery that took place at a shop in Wrexham this afternoon.
At 1.05pm today (Thursday, February 13th) it is reported a man threatened a member of staff at the AM/PM store in Brynteg, before making off.
Nothing is reported to have been stolen during the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Eleri Thomas said: “We are following several lines of enquiry to ensure the person responsible for this incident is apprehended as soon as possible.
“We understand the presence of armed officers in the area might be concerning, but I would like to reassure the community that incidents of this nature are rare, and there is not believed to be any wider threat to residents.
“Searches are ongoing and high visibility patrols will be carried out in the area throughout the evening for reassurance purposes.”
