Enquiries are ongoing today following an attempted robbery at a shop in Wrexham.
At 1.03pm yesterday (Thursday, February 13th), a man entered the AM/PM convenience store in Brynteg and threatened a member of staff for cash, claiming he had a gun, before leaving in the direction of Holborn Crecent.
Nothing was stolen and no weapon was seen during the incident.
Detective Inspector Dean Jones said: “Enquiries are continuing today to locate the suspect as soon as possible.
“I would like to reassure the community that no gun was seen during the incident, despite claiming he had one, and we do not believe there to be any wider threat to residents.
“The man, whose face was covered, is described to of a large build and was wearing all dark clothing during the incident.
“I am asking anyone who hasn’t already been in contact with the police who lives in the vicinity of the AM/PM shop, and those who live on Holborn Crescent who have CCTV, to check their cameras for sightings of the suspect.
“Anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage is also asked to review their cameras for any suspicious behaviour, or sightings of the suspect.”
