Sadly, a woman has died following a road traffic collision in Wrexham yesterday afternoon (Sunday, April 6).
Shortly after 1pm we received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A534 Wrexham Road at the junction with Barton Road, Holt involving a grey coloured Mercedes and a blue coloured Kawasaki motorcycle.
Sadly, the female pillion passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male motorcyclist remains in hospital in Stoke with serious, potentially life-changing injuries.
The coroner has been informed.
Sergeant Steve Richards of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is urging any witnesses to come forward. He said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has died and everyone involved. They are now being supported by specially trained officers.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist with our investigation, who has not already spoken to officers, is asked to get in touch as soon as possible. This includes anybody who may have been travelling along that particular stretch of road and who may have dash cam footage.”
Anybody with information should contact officers at North Wales Police’ Serious Collision Investigation Unit via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 25000281482.
