Irish youngsters embarking on a special Disney-themed journey were given a warm welcome by Holyhead Port officers earlier this week.
After liaising with Make-A-Wish Ireland staff, Holyhead Port officers attended at the Irish Ferries Ulysses ship to meet and greet volunteers from the organisation.
Make-A-Wish Ireland grants wishes to children between 3 and 17 years of age, who are living with a life-threatening condition.
En route to a magical 'Disney Wish Experience' in Hoar Cross Hall, Burton-upon-Trent; a total of 37 children accompanied by parents/guardians and volunteers disembarked from the ship on two coaches, two ambulances and a minibus.
They were given a blue light escort from the ship to the outskirts of the port, where they met with Holyhead Response officers.
Children and volunteers gave a massive thumbs up to their experience.
Make-A-Wish Ireland Volunteering Lead, Sharon O'Connor said: "A big thank you from all at Make-A-Wish for organising the meet and escort this morning. It was lovely for all the families.
This is the third year we have travelled over with families, but the first year we have travelled by ferry. We have children in the group who just could not take part in this wish if we did not travel this way."
