PC Gwion Jones has been named as this year’s Response Officer of the Year for North Wales.
PC Jones has received the award as part of National Response Policing Week of Action, which aims to acknowledge the vital role of response policing across the country.
Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman presented Gwion with the award in recognition of his dedication to local policing in Bangor and surrounding areas whilst working as a response officer. He has become well-known for his depth of knowledge of frontline policing as well as his creative problem-solving skills.
Commendations were also awarded to PC Lisa Thomas and PC Darrel Andrews for their outstanding contributions to local policing in their respective areas.
PC Thomas, who is based in Llandudno police station, was praised for her enthusiasm and excellent service to victims.
PC Andrews is based in Rhosllanerchrugog police station and was recognised for his proactive approach to policing and dedication to mentoring officers who are new in service.
Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman said: “I am delighted to be able to present the award for Response Officer of the year to PC Gwion Jones.
“He has made an exemplary contribution to local policing in Gwynedd North as a frontline response officer for over nine years, and he should feel incredibly proud of his achievements.
“PC Jones is highly motivated and committed to making a positive difference in the community and is valued by his peers, supervisors and senior managers, who are proud to work alongside him.
“I would also like to recognise the runners up, PC Lisa Thomas and PC Darrel Andrews, for this award. They are an absolute credit to the force, and I am proud to have them serving at North Wales Police.
“Congratulations to you all.”
