A 50-year-old man has been jailed following an assault in Towyn in October 2023.
Scott Christopher Gorman, of Ludlow Street in Liverpool, appeared at Mold Crown Court today, 26th January, charged with assault, intentional strangulation and affray.
Police were called to Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Towyn late on Friday October 27th 2023, following reports of an assault at the caravan park.
Whilst at the location, Gormon removed his shoelaces from his trainers and wrapped them around the victim’s throat from behind, causing the victim to fall to the floor. Gormon then struck the victim repeatedly to his body and face until security intervened.
He received 18 months imprisonment as well as a restraining order lasting for three years.
Sergeant Kiera Williams said: “Violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our communities.
“This attack on a person who was unknown to Gormon must have been a terrifying experience whilst on holiday on the area and I hope that today’s sentence reassures them that justice has been served.”
North Wales Police is committed to tackling violent crimes, and any report of such incidents will be treated as a priority.
