A 32-year-old man has been jailed after choking his partner.
Luke Richard Roberts, of Church Street, Newborough, appeared at Mold Crown court today, Wednesday April 3rd, after pleading guilty to intentional strangulation.
On August 22nd 2023, Roberts was at an address in Deiniolen when he hit his partner with a bottle and then choked her until she became unconscious.
Today he was jailed for two years and six months.
He also received a restraining order not to contact or approach the victim, or to enter the village of Deiniolen, Gwynedd.
Detective Constable Saran Henderson said: “We will not tolerate violent and inexcusable behaviour towards women.
“I commend the bravery of the victim for their part during this investigation.
“It isn’t easy to speak up following domestic incidents, but I would reassure anyone that we will always do our utmost to fully investigate any report and bring offenders to justice.”
