Meet our Design Out Crime Officer

Design Out Crime Officer, Chris Livesey, gives advice to partners during the planning stages of new housing about how they can be made safer and more secure for future residents.

Once the build is complete, he then revisits the site to ensure that all guidance has been adhered to. The site is then given Secured By Design certification to show they have worked with police to support a safer neighbourhood.

We have three Design Out Crime Officers working across the force who work as part of our Prevention Hub.

Their job is to prevent crime in the community by providing advice and guidance on how to better secure buildings, businesses, and high value property so that criminals find it difficult to commit crimes. This supports our vision to create safer environments for people who live, work and visit North Wales.
