A 25-year-old man has today been jailed after attacking a woman at a hotel.
Geoffrey Edward Hallett, of Rhondda Cynon Taff, was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court today (Friday, October 13th) after admitting offences of wounding, actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
Whilst staying in a hotel in Caernarfon on Sunday, February 6th last year, Hallet punched the victim to the face and deliberately broke her phone, before assaulting her a second time when she tried to leave the room.
A judge today sentenced him to one year and 10 months in jail. He also received a restraining order.
Detective Constable Eifion Patchett said: “I commend the victim for her courage during the investigation. Her bravery following a traumatic experience has led to Hallett’s conviction today.
“I would like to thank the members of the public who intervened and safeguarded the victim from further harm.
