Retail checks and educational visits have been conducted across the Western area of the force as part of Operation Sceptre, which is the national operation to tackle knife crime.
Officers visited shops in Bangor, Caernarfon, Amlwch, Llangefni and Holyhead. Staff were asked about the shops’ processes around selling knives, ensuring they adhere to the Challenge 25 guidance.
We also attended Coleg Meirion Dwyfor in Pwllheli and Dolgellau to speak with students about the dangers of carrying knives and the potential consequences of knife crime.
