Operation to tackle burglary offences launched on Anglesey.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be visiting communities across Anglesey over the coming weeks to prevent burglaries as the winter nights draw in.
Officers will visit residential areas to offer crime prevention packs and advice to protect residents against burglaries.
The plan focusses on education and prevention tools, with an aim to reduce the number of victims.
Between September 1st 2022 and September 3rd 2023, there have been 103 burglaries reported on Anglesey. 70% of these burglaries were residential, with 30% being classed as business and community.
For the majority of reported offences, homes and businesses were targeted when they were unoccupied.
In just under a quarter (24%) of these occurrences, the targeted properties had been left insecure.
Over the coming weeks, officers will be patrolling across Anglesey and will be giving security advice to businesses or properties that appear unoccupied. This will allow individuals to take proactive steps to make their properties less attractive to opportunistic burglars.
District Support Sergeant Iwan Jones said: “Burglaries not only have a significant effect on individuals, but also on the communities in which they are committed.
“By launching this operation, we aim to reduce the number of victims as well as improve our investigations into reported offences in both homes and businesses.
“We want to work with the community by asking residents to take simple but effective steps to protect their properties and valuable items to prevent future offences.
“The best way to prevent burglaries is for everyone to be aware of how to make their property less attractive to opportunistic burglars and to be vigilant for suspicious activity in their local areas.”
