Increased patrols following arson

Officers in Gwynedd and Anglesey are increasing patrols in hotspot areas following reports of recent deliberate fires.

It comes as two incidents of arson have been investigated in Bangor this week. 

The first incident was a deliberate gorse fire on the evening of May 23rd in the Pen Y Bryn area of Bangor. Anyone with information can contact us quoting ref 23000439981.

The second incident, in which a building was heavily vandalised with extensive fire damage inside, occurred on Holyhead Road, Bangor, on May 24th. It is believed the fire started between 2-3pm. If anyone witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or saw anyone inside the building, contact us quoting ref 23000443024.

The incidents follow further reports of arson across Gwynedd and Anglesey during the last month.

Officers will be patrolling hotspot areas across Gwynedd and Anglesey to prevent further arsons and to educate young people about the dangers of setting deliberate fires.

Signs are also being placed in these areas to warn and appeal for any information about deliberate fire setting.
