A man has sadly died following a road traffic collision on the A55 Eastbound, near to Britannia Bridge in Anglesey this morning (Tuesday May 23rd).
Shortly after 3.10am emergency services were called to the area, however sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s next of kin and coroner have been informed.
The A55 was closed whilst numerous agencies worked to investigate the scene and arrange recovery. We thank the public for their patience during this time.
The road was reopened at 12pm.
Chief Inspector Jason Davies said: “We can confirm that the A55 was closed this morning due to a fatal road collision. Our deepest condolences remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.
“We are grateful for the understanding of the public who may have been delayed by the traffic this morning.
“This incident is now being investigated and I am appealing to anyone who may have been travelling along the A55 Eastbound near to Britannia Bridge prior to the collision and who may have seen or have dashcam footage of a grey BMW 3 Series, to contact us.”
