The theme this year is #EmbraceEquity. The aim of the IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about why equal opportunities aren't enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate our successes but equally an opportunity to reflect and acknowledge that there is more to do. Women are still faced with challenges within the workplace as well as across wider society.
“We've seen brilliant progress with career development and recruitment of women over the last few years. We will continue to build on our successes so that we create a balanced, diverse, and inclusive workplace for all.”
North Wales Police has signed up to the HeForShe initiative, with a pledge to improve gender imbalances that exist at senior levels within policing and to continue to combat domestic and sexual abuse in society.
