An operation took place in Flintshire this weekend to target drink and drug drivers.
Op Blue Onslaught saw six Special Constables deployed from Flintshire North and South, to volunteer a collective total of 83 hours between Friday 2nd June and Sunday 3rd June in an effort to make Flintshire’s roads safer.
The operation was a marked success, with a total of 53 roadside breath tests being carried out and two tickets issued. Thankfully, no one was found to be driving under the influence and the operation helped highlight how North Wales Police takes a zero-tolerance approach to drink and drug drivers.
Special Constables are voluntary Police officers who choose to spend their free time helping others. They have the same equipment and powers as regular officers but choose to work shifts in their spare time.
Think you’ve got what it takes? We’re recruiting now!
