"I’m PC Jamie McDaid and I have been a PC for 18 months now, stationed at Holyhead but working across the Anglesey area.
"When I start a shift, I don’t know what I will face, it can be literally anything. I’ve attended robberies, collisions, drugs operations, and have had to perform CPR whilst waiting for an ambulance to arrive. However, I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I’m able to help someone in need and make the communities of Anglesey safer.
"Response policing can be hard but the support you get from colleagues makes it much easier. For example, one challenge for me is that a lot of work is done in my second language!
"I’ve also joined the NWP football team. We have an amazing squad and have just won the emergency service competition throughout England and Wales. It’s great that colleagues and friends can come together to play for both the physical and mental benefits of taking part in sport and I also get the support from my sergeant to take part.
"I feel very lucky to be a police officer and am excited to continue in my career."
Keep an eye on our social media channels throughout the week where we will be shining the light on our response officers using #ResponsePolicingWeek.
