Officers are stepping up patrols in the Gwynedd North area as part of an operation to target recent hotspot areas for burglaries from commercial premises and vehicle interferences.
The operation comes after a series of incidents in the Bangor and Caernarfon areas in which several burglaries from commercial premises and thefts from motor vehicles have been reported.
Investigations have been launched into these reports and police enquiries are underway.
Police officers will be conducting high visibility patrols each evening and overnight, covering hotspots in Caernarfon and Bangor, as well as surrounding areas, to provide reassurance to residents and business owners.
District Support Sergeant Andy Davies said: “Tackling and understanding local concerns is a priority for us, which is why we are working hard to investigate recent reports of theft and burglary.
“The operation will see an increase in visible patrols across the district in coming weeks, to tackle this criminal behaviour, and to offer reassurance to those who live and work in the district.
“Officers will also be speaking to residents about crime prevention advice, including encouraging them to secure their vehicles overnight and ensure that any valuable items are removed.
“We thank the community for their support during this operation and would urge anyone to report any suspicious behaviour to police immediately.”
Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious, may have dashcam or CCTV footage, or any further information, is urged to contact police immediately via our website or by calling 101.
