Meet the crew who have taken to the seas representing North Wales as part of a yacht race against other Northwest force areas.
The Chief Constable’s Challenge saw four tall ships launch from Portsmouth on Saturday, October 22nd, as part of an event set by Merseyside Chief Constable, Serena Kennedy.
The competition, in partnership with Tall Ship Youth Trust, will be finishing at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool on Friday, October 28th, following a two-year postponement due the pandemic.
The 72ft former round the world challenger yachts are being sailed by four groups of young people, each representing North Wales Police, Merseyside Police, Cheshire Police and Greater Manchester Police.
The young people were selected having been considered deserving due to their commitment to the community or continuing to strive in school despite challenging home lives.
