PC Richard Fishlock from North Wales Police’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team is leading on a campaign to raise awareness around hate crime. With funding from The North Wales Police & Community Trust (PACT) and the Police & Crime Commissioner’s Office, the #HateHurts campaign aims to spread the message that any type of hate crime is not acceptable, and North Wales Police as well as local communities are taking a stand against it.
The two-part campaign has started with an engagement session taking place in Wrexham in partnership with the Wrexham Dynamic Project; a centre for young people with disabilities. During the session, PC Fishlock gave an educational talk about the impact of hate crime, when and how to report it followed by a Q&A session. They were then able to have some fun trying on police uniform and were joined by some officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team an officer from the Drone Unit!
