Wrexham’s multi-faith community forum will convene again in the town next week.
Formed in early February, the first meeting attracted members of the town’s mosque, Catholic Church, Church of England, and volunteers from the district’s Salvation Army branch.
Among the issues discussed by the panel were mental health signposting, homelessness, drug use, Asian gold thefts, and CCTV coverage.
Wrexham Town Sergeant Dave Smith has led on the community engagement initiative and hopes to build on the forum’s positive start.
He said: “I felt like a lot of good ground was covered in the first session.
“Seeing the heads of local faith groups come along to offer some insight into issues of concern in the town was really useful.
“These are respected people, who do a great deal of good within the Wrexham community and it’s great to have them on board.
“Some key issues were raised last time and I’ll look to provide updates on these matters from a policing perspective.
“This project was all about us, as a force, reaching out to faith and community leaders to gain a better understanding of life in the town for residents of all backgrounds.
“We want this to be a lasting, long-term project and hopefully our numbers will continue to grow in the weeks and months ahead.”
The multi-faith community forum will be hosted at Wrexham Town Police Station, Rhosddu Road on Friday, 22 April.
The hour-long session will get underway at 3pm.
